The Accuser Has Failed

PRECIOUS MOMENT

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God…” Revelation 12:10 ESV

The devil lost the battle for your soul the moment you embraced Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour. Nonetheless, he never ceases plotting against your life. He employs allegation as one of his techniques. The passage describes how the devil accuses the brethren at all hours of the day and night. But, since the devil knows the saints are already in Christ, why does he keep accusing them?

These allegations are meant to put us to the test of knowing our identity in Christ; do we realise you are God’s righteousness? That we are justified by the blood of Jesus Christ and rescued by grace rather than works? As a result, we cannot rely on our own good works to make us right with God, nor can we boast before God of ourselves because we did nothing to earn it.

But the child of God who does not know these things from God’s word would always feel condemned and worthless in God’s eyes. Instead of living in victory, they live in despair and perpetual fear, believing that their sin is greater than Jesus’ blood.

How do we respond to the enemy’s accusations? The Bible explains who we are in Christ, and once we realise this, nothing the enemy says can deceive us.

Ephesians 6:10–11 tells us to put on the full armour of God, so we can stand against the devil’s schemes. 1 Peter 5:8–9 tells us to stand firm in the faith and resist the devil. Also, 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 talks about taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. This means if the thoughts we think are not in line with scripture, we must intentionally let go of such thoughts and replace them with what God has said. When we are rooted in God’s word, nothing can uproot us from Him.

In Your name, Lord Jesus, I rebuke the accuser of my soul. I silence him with the reality of what You say about me. Heavenly Father, I thank You for loving me with everlasting love, Amen.

21 DAYS OF GRATITUDE

Day 3️⃣

Thank God for His divine protection each and every day. Thank God for delivering us from the works of the enemy. Bless the Lord, who has not given us as prey to the devil.

If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, When men rose up against us, Then they would have swallowed us alive, When their wrath was kindled against us; Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth.” Psalm‬ ‭124:2–3‬,6 NKJV‬‬
