“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” Ephesians‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

The Holy Spirit gives us the strength needed to do God’s will and purpose. He gives to us the power to continue living to the glory of the Father. His role is very important, therefore, we cannot deny or put Him aside. Certain religious factions deny the presence of the Holy Spirit, some do not believe He is really important to our Christian growth however, without His input we will remain weak and dreary. Our Christian lives fully depend on Him. Every human being has an inner man; that is, our spirit.

The only way we can receive strength for our inner man is through the Holy Spirit.

Most times our weakness and inability to partake in spiritual exercises are as a result of a weak inner man. We are unable to comprehend spiritual realities and truths when the inner man is weak. It’s like trying to explain calculus to a very hungry young man. He may get angry and even fight with you when you keep pushing, however, when he is full with some good food the probability of understanding heightens. So it is spiritually.

The Holy Spirit is the one that fills our spirit with the much-needed strength so we can comprehend and discern things spiritually. He gives us this ability so that Christ may dwell richly in our hearts through faith. In the same way we need food daily to survive, our inner man also needs the Holy Spirit to survive. It’s good to always pray that the Lord will empower us with inner strength through His Spirit.

I believe without a doubt that as we begin to engage the Holy Spirit from today, we will receive the blessing of being grounded in Christ and becoming a strong Christian. We need to be strong in the Lord to fight the battles that are ahead. All this can become possible today when we receive empowerment from the Holy Spirit.

Dear Lord, please give me strength in my inner man that I may mature spiritually.
