But they have gained the victory over him because of the blood of the Lamb and of the testimony which they have borne, and because they held their lives cheap and did not shrink even from death. Revelation 12:11 Weymouth

Testifying can sometimes be difficult. Although our testimonies are ones of victory, our difficulty may stem from the fact that in sharing, we are also reliving the not-so-pleasant events that led up to it. Conversely, our reluctance to share may be because we’re concerned about what people will think of us once they become privy to who we once were and the life we led. Nonetheless, we must not let this, or anything else, deter us from proclaiming what God has done and is doing in our lives.

Through the redemptive work of Christ, we have been called from darkness into His marvellous light, a call that is accompanied by the experience of continuous victory. Our victory may be guaranteed, however, we have a role to play in activating and maintaining it, a concept our focal text presents very beautifully; the blood of the lamb + our testimony = constant victory.

Like an Excel spreadsheet, deviating from this equation will lead us to error. Jesus fulfilled His part when He hanged like a thief on the cross. He’s done all the heavy lifting and simply asks that we share it. We have been given the keys to the kingdom and our testimonies are one of the said keys. They wield the power to silence the enemy and must therefore be used. Learn to share your testimonies.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for times I failed to testify of Your goodness in my life. From today Lord, with every breath that I am able and reckless abandon of what people may think of me, I will testify of Your goodness and give You glory. Amen
