“Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” [2 Corinthians 5:17 AMPC]

“Any person” in our anchor scripture means that regardless of class, race, nationality, language, or level of intelligence, you can be a new creation in Christ Jesus.

The born again experience gives us a glorious identity. Once we give ourselves wholly to God’s service, we become something we were not formerly. Our identity changes from the fallen version of ourselves to be associated with the righteousness of Christ Jesus. As born again believers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our old and selfish ideas, mindsets, and purposes cease to exist and are replaced with the ideas, mindsets, and agendas of God. We begin to desire to do that which pleases Him at all times, even if it requires sacrifice.

Even as the old things pass, it is necessary for new things to be used to replace them so that we are not found idle. Our hearts and our minds require transformation so that we can begin to live the life we are called to live as people set apart for God. Ezekiel 36:26 says, “A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” This is very important because once we enter into God’s kingdom, we need to be of one mind, one heart and one spirit with the King. Thus, we can move how He wants us to move, and know the very desires of His heart at all times.

It is essential to know and have an understanding of our identity in Christ so that it informs the way we live. Once that transformation begins to happen, we begin to understand the kind of love He has for us. We open up for Him to teach us how best we can love Him out of the abundance of love we receive from Him daily.

Heavenly Father, thank You for engrafting me in Christ, as a matter of fact, thank You for that possibility. I declare, in Jesus' name, that every newness that has to come out of me shall surely be, and nothing will hinder it, Amen.
