“But now take courage, Zerubbabel,’ declares the Lord, ‘take courage also, Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ declares the Lord of hosts.” — [Haggai 2:4 NASB]

In our year of harvest, this scripture serves as an encouragement and a reminder to all of us to go on and work, for the LORD is with us. Our Father has called us to do His work, help bring the lost sheep home.

Our Father is comforting us through His word to take courage. These words should follow us on every outing we go to, be it an outreach or a personal outing: “The Lord is with me.” When you are worried that those who are lost would not listen to you, the Father says, “take courage.”

This scripture should be the fuel that kindles our fire to reach the lost. Make it a daily declaration: “The LORD has called me for His good work, HE says to take courage for he is with me.”

Every step you take to reach out to a soul is evidence of your faith in the word of the Lord.

So let us not be discouraged, but rather be ready as the Lord’s army to go out, planting and watering like Apostle Paul and his companion Apollos. As long as we are making the effort to do His work, He is definitely going to increase the works of our hands.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your word of encouragement. I am grateful, O Lord, that You are always with me. Holy Spirit, please help me remember, that whenever I step out to do the work of the Lord, I can work in the confidence of knowing that I am not alone, that You are with me along with the Father and the Son. Let me be the reason heaven rejoices, in the mighty name of Jesus have I prayed, Amen.
